Funeral of Hilda Manton: - a regular at Monday Lunch and resident of Homelodge House will take place at 1.30pm at Fradley Crematorium on Thursday 16th August. Please remember her son Tony and wider family in your prayers.
Wedding: - Vicky Gibbons and Ed Jones will be married next Saturday, 18th August, at 12noon in Christ Church, Gentleshaw. We wish them all the very best for their future life together.
Future Events
filmThursday 16th August: Film Afternoon 1.30pm in the Lichfield room, the film Early Man will be shown, starring Eddie Redmayne and Maisie Williams - it lasts 1hr 29 mins. Tea and sandwiches will be served, £1.50 for refreshments.
Saturday 18th: Faith Month - 11.00 am at Speakers' Corner in Dam Street near Minster Pool, George Fox and the Quakers introduced by Anthony Wilson from the Lichfield Friends Meeting.
Tuesday 21st: Housegroup Leaders' Meeting - 7.30pm at the Church. A meeting to connect with housegroup leaders and set out the teaching programme for the autumn.
Tuesday 21st: Hope Group Visit - Around 30 ladies and children from across Birmingham are visiting Lichfield for picnic lunch and tour. Help needed in form of picnic food, funds and volunteers. Contact Janet Crews (07749298120) for further information.
Saturday 25th: Taste of Syria evening - 6.00pm at Wade street church. £3.00 to include food. Organised by Lichfield Refugee Aid for local Syrian families. Please contact Janet Crews to book places. 07749298120 or janetrcrews@gmail.com
Saturday 22nd September: Wade Street Open Day - as part of the heritage weekend where we can invite everyone from Wade Street and visitors from around Lichfield to come in and see Wade Street Church for themselves.
Announcements
Lichfield Foodbank: Ian Coxon is leaving Lichfield foodbank for health reasons and Les Loveday, our treasurer, has decided to retire. Both plan to be gone by Christmas. Consequently we have three positions for which to recruit: Supermarket Coordinator, IT and PR Lead, and Treasurer. Summer Holiday Club: 14th to 17th August volunteers still needed from 9.00am to 1.00pm, also those who would be able to prepare drinks and snacks for the children and volunteers. If you can help in any way please contact Ann Richardson.
