Wednesday 25th: Synod Praying Day 7.30pm at Wade Street, this event prepared by Andrew Willet includes prayer station for quiet prayer as well as corporate prayer. Tea or coffee available. Contact Iris Hartley (262367).
filmThursday 26th: Film Afternoon 1.30pm in the Lichfield room, the film House of Mirth will be shown, starring Gillian Anderson, Laura Linney and Dan Ackroyd, is based on the Edith Wharton novel and is a sustained snarl of rage at a world where women are overwhelmingly dependent on men for their livelihoods - lasts 2hr 23mins. Tea and sandwiches will be served, £1.50 for refreshments.

Word for Today: Summer is here if you read the title of this publication, May-July, and also that God is in charge: Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails. Copies in the porch and on the piano in the Lichfield Room.
Basic Budgeting Skills: Rev Mike Batchelor is working with Black Country Urban Industrial Mission and funded by the CUF to deliver basic budgeting skills courses to people who can then work on a one to one basis to help people manage their finances. Courses last 3 to 4 hours and are free to groups: we just need a suitable venue. Sessions can be booked with him at Bridging the Gap in Willenhall (01902 606615), m.batchelor922@btinternet.com
Pastoral Training Day: Saturday 7th July, Lichfield Room. We have invited a specialist pastoral trainer to Wade Street, Andy Peck from CWR - to help us learn more about pastoral work. We are opening this to many more people, some who already care for for others even in a small way, and those of us who would like to explore and develop their pastoral leanings, gifts. There is NOW a list in the office to sign. The course is funded but we need to know numbers. More info from Andrew Rushton or Kate Arden-White.
Talking about Depression/Anxiety: The next set of sessions begin on Wednesday 25th April and 4 subsequent Wednesdays (2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd May) from 10.00am 12noon in the Lichfield Room at Wade St Church. Prayer and readings rota: If you feel you would like to be involved, or would like more information before committing yourself please have a word with me.
