Tearfund Harvest Appeal:
- What an amazing response! You have given a total of £1,673.75. When the gift aid is added, that should become £1,923.75, which means that Tearfund will be able to help over 190 families with training in farming techniques. Thank you so much, Hazel.
Future Events
filmThursday 26th: Film Afternoon 1.30pm in the Lichfield room, the film The Time Of Their Lives will be shown, starring Joan Collins, Pauline Collins, Franco Nero, Ronald Pickup and Joely Richardson lasts 1hr 44mins. Tea and sandwiches will be served, £1.50 for refreshments.
Wednesday 12th November: Defibrillator training sponsored by Churches Together - if you would like to attend to let Rick know on (411543) or email swimrick1@yahoo.co.uk.
Angel Tree 2017: - is well under way this year. Forms are being completed by those prisoners in Swinfen Hall Prison and Drake Hall Prison, Eccleshall, who would like their child/children to receive a Christmas gift through Angel Tree. These presents mean so much to the children of the men/women in prison, because each child realises that they have not forgotten them, thus keeping families together. Note for your diary: Present Buying - Monday 27th November, 10am outside B&M Stores in Market Street, Lichfield. Present Wrapping: Tuesday 28th November, 10am - midday, 2pm - 4.00pm in the Community Room, Holy Cross Church, Chapel Lane, Lichfield. You would be very welcome to join us at either of these events. Church Transport: - As we start to look to rotas for 2018 it is time to ask if anyone would like to join the driving team. Currently we have three passengers who we bring to the 11.00 service and return home afterwards. At present each driver does one turn every two months. There will be a vacancy for at least one driver. For more information please speak to Roger Hartley (262367) or email rogermhartley@outlook.com
Christmas Day Together: - Churches Together are pleased to announce that the 'Christmas Day Together' lunch will be held again at Wade Street Church, Lichfield on Christmas Day. Invitations will be sent out shortly to those who have attended the event in previous years. If you have not attended before and would like to, or know anyone who you think would like to, please contact Maria Pavey by email to paveyfamily@googlemail.com or tel: (07505 129830). To volunteer to help, either with the preparations before the day, or on Christmas Day itself either at Wade Street or by providing transport, also contact Maria by email or telephone.
Tuesday Book and Prayer Group: - A chance to discuss and pray about our responses to a range of Christian books within a friendly evening home group. For our first series of discussions, we propose to use a book by Rebecca Manley Pippert, Out of the salt shaker and into the world Evangelism as a way of life, ISBN 0 85111.646.9. If you think this might be for you, please contact Nick and Ruth Tinsdeall by Tuesday 24th October.
